Men's skin care ABC🧔‍♂️

Men's skincare routine often differs from women's, being much simpler or sometimes even incomplete. It is usually preferred to wash the face with water, soap, shower gel or hair shampoo, and face cream is seldom or never used. Hand cream is used when the situation is already very bad.

Aftershave products are most commonly used to relieve skin irritation. Men's skin care is also characterized by convenience — the more effects one product has, the better. However, any kind of skin needs care, regardless of gender or age, because only cared-for skin remains beautiful and is protected from external influences.

What to follow in men's skin care?

The skin is a barrier between our body and the external environment — the skin helps regulate body temperature and protects us from external influences. In order to maintain the skin's protective capacity, it must be taken care of regularly.

Every person's skin, regardless of gender, needs to be cleaned and moisturized every day. This must be done with products designed for this purpose, because the wrong products can further dry the skin and damage its natural protective layer.

The face should only be cleaned with gentle means intended for this purpose. The shampoo is designed to remove sebum from the scalp, which means that its composition is definitely stronger than face washes.

When using the wrong products, the skin becomes dry and rough, and irritated skin often develops rough patches and flaking. Such skin cannot maintain its protective capacity, and as a result, the risk of skin infections increases.

Get to know your skin type

Before you can take the best care of your skin, you need to understand what type of skin you have.

If you are blessed with normal skin, you probably rarely experience acne, dryness or irritation. If you have oily skin, you may notice that your skin has a natural sheen and/or oily patches, and you're likely struggling with acne or oil build-up. Men with dry or sensitive skin notice that their skin is easily irritated and often feels tight or dry.

Some people have a combination of these skin types, often distributed along the T-zone. The "T" zone consists of an imaginary horizontal band across the forehead and a vertical band running down the tip of the nose that is usually oily, while the rest of the face (especially the cheeks) is usually dry or sensitive.

Wash your face

Whether you spend most of your days in front of a computer screen or working in the fields, dirt and oil build up on your skin every day. So it is important that you gently wash your face twice a day with gentle products.

Slow down the signs of aging

Products based on hyaluronic acid not only lock in moisture, but also create a barrier against environmental damage.

Hyaluronic acid is a smart nutrient that keeps the skin stable and protected. It offers amazing benefits for all skin types, including dry, oily, sensitive and breakout-prone skin. Hyaluronic Acid Anti-Aging Serum is so light you'll love using it twice a day after washing your face.

Moisturize

Men's skin is 25% thicker than women's skin. Therefore, he is also a little more durable. Men's skin has more elastin and collagen fibers, which provide better elasticity to men's skin. Thus, the signs of aging appear later on men's skin, but when they do appear, the signs of aging become noticeable very quickly and wrinkles deepen quickly. Men's skin is trimmed up to approx. Until the age of 30, but after that the tone of the skin starts to decrease and the skin needs more hydration, nutrition and protection.

When choosing a cream, you should make sure that it primarily protects the skin from irritation caused by shaving. The cream should also give the skin a chance to restore the hydrolipidic layer without the product causing comedones. The ideal cream for men's skin is moisturizing, nourishing, cell regenerating and soothing.

Protect your skin from the sun

The face cream could definitely also contain a UV factor, because the skin actually needs sun protection in winter as well. In addition to the risk of skin cancer, UV radiation accelerates the aging of the skin, i.e. promotes the formation of wrinkles and reduces the elasticity of the skin.

While sunscreen is key to protecting your skin from harmful sun damage, it's also important to remember to wear UV protective clothing when you're outside for long periods of time.

Shaving

Shaving is an everyday activity that many men unfortunately take too superficially. Shaving with a blunt blade is especially harmful, as it irritates and damages the skin, making it gray and dull. However, if you combine shaving with a quick facial treatment, in addition to a smooth chin, you will also get a healthy complexion with soft skin. After shaving, the skin should be moisturized with a soothing emulsion or cream, including the fact that the day cream moisturizes and protects and the night cream nourishes the skin.

Shaving is a physical exfoliation of the skin, you must not use alcohol-based products on your face after shaving.

Beard care

Beard care is part of skin care. If you've grown the beard you've always dreamed of and maybe even matched it with a stylish moustache, you're sure to impress with your look. A stylish beard inevitably includes its proper maintenance. It's like owning a really nice car.

You don't need to shampoo your beard every day - too much washing will dry it out! We recommend washing your beard about 2-3 times a week. Beard hairs have a coarser structure compared to hair, so we recommend using a shampoo or soap designed for this purpose to keep your beard healthy and clean.

Using regular shampoo dries the beard too much and the skin-beard hairs become fragile and can break, and it also causes flaking of the skin.

It is also recommended to use beard oil to balance the beard's natural hydration, as washing your beard regularly removes some of its natural oils.

For best results, oils should not contain silicones, sulfates or parabens. We recommend using the beard oil once a day immediately after showering. Using the oil after a warm shower is more effective because then the pores and hair fibers are open, allowing the oil to be absorbed more effectively. Be sure to towel dry your beard before applying the oil and apply the oil to a damp beard, not a wet one.

Finally

A skincare routine doesn't have to be expensive, complicated or cumbersome. All you need for this is a gentle face wash and cream. Wash your face in the morning and evening and use a moisturizing cream. In addition to the face, other areas such as the hands, elbows and neck could also be moisturized. If you wash your hands frequently during the day or use alcohol-based disinfectants, it is worth creaming your hands afterwards as well. Also, every additional skin care activity (e.g. making a face mask) is only a welcome activity, your skin will thank you.
