❄️Winter body care🧖🏻‍♀️

Cooler weather brings out many skin problems such as flaking, stinging, redness and itching. If you have so far preferred ordinary detergents, in the winter period it is worth offering your skin moisturizing and oil-based cleaning products that moisturize the skin, absorb well and provide support for the body cream.

If you don't have time or means to go to a beauty salon, you can also offer skin care at home.

Choose the right water temperature

During the winter, when the cold has crept in between the skin, enjoying a hot shower is a quick relief to get rid of the cold feeling. At this point, however, it should be borne in mind that you should not soak yourself under hot water for too long, as it damages the skin's natural oil layer, which protects it from drying out. If the skin starts to redden in the shower, this is a signal that it is high time to get out of the water. Try to avoid hot water, rather enjoy a bath or shower with warm water.

Dry the body properly

After washing, dry the skin by gently patting it with a towel. By rubbing hard, you damage the top layer of the skin and make the skin even drier. By leaving the surface of the skin gently moist, the body cream is better absorbed deeper into the skin layers, as a result of which the skin is protected from dryness for a longer period of time.

Peel the body

Exfoliation, which stimulates the growth of new skin cells and promotes the absorption of body care products, should also be part of the winter body care routine. In winter, exfoliation helps to get rid of scaly skin caused by dryness. It also helps fight dry patches on the skin. We often forget to exfoliate our body in winter, because it is more associated with summer and the desire to get an even tan. In fact, exfoliation is an important procedure to add to your regular beauty routine, as exfoliation stimulates the production of new skin cells and also helps the other teats to absorb better and give their best. In addition, exfoliation also reduces the formation of pimples and reduces ingrown hairs

Since the skin is sensitive, the body scrub should not be used more than once or twice a week. One of the most skin-friendly ways to use scrubs is to apply them in the bath or shower so that the skin is pre-moisturized and does not cause irritation.

Use deeply moisturizing body creams

Winter body care should be more intensive than usual, and products with a deep moisturizing effect should be used to offer the skin stronger protection against the cold. Rich hydration is like an extra layer of clothing for the skin. Since there are fewer sebaceous glands on the hands and feet, it is these areas that need more intense hydration. In cold weather, products enriched with shea and cocoa butter are especially suitable. With their regular use, the moisture content of the skin increases and the skin becomes smooth and velvety.

Take vitamins

You have probably heard the saying that beauty starts from within. Therefore, in addition to the aforementioned body procedure, it is also important to support your health. In winter, our entire immune system needs vitamin support, including our largest organ, the skin.

Don't forget to drink water

Skin hydration is also important internally to prevent dehydration. During the winter, water consumption can be neglected along with other winter and hot drinks such as tea and cocoa. In fact, our body needs fluids all year round. A better winter alternative for the skin is hot water with a slice of lemon.

Go to the sauna

With centuries-long sauna traditions in Estonia, saunas have always been used to maintain good health and treat various health problems. In the steam room, most disease-causing microbes are killed, the skin pores open and the skin is cleansed. Resistance to colds increases.

The cosmetological aspects of sauna use include skin cleansing and improvement of complexion due to removal of dead cells, improvement of blood supply and opening of pores, reduction of many skin diseases including acne, eczema, psoriasis and dandruff, reduction of wrinkles and scars, also varicose veins, relief of burns and ulcers.
